A "new to me" trike for BJ!!

I've been happy with my Sunseeker EZ-TAD SX but I found a fantastic deal on a "slightly used" Terra Trike Tour II so I took the funds from selling the original Sunseeker Eco-Tad SX and bought the Tour II! Man this is a SWEET machine, it feels very light next to the EZ-TAD SX and it's got the "indirect-steering" set up instead of the "direct-steering" set up so it seems much more stable and controlled.
LOL, of course just as I got it, the weather here in Colorado Springs, CO. turned to CRUD, today it's freezing drizzle and 25F! :( Hopefully I can get in a short ride tomorrow before the WIND comes back on Friday, bringing a artic cold front with temps in the TEENS F and possible snow showers by Friday night thru the whole weekend!! RATS!! :( JoLynn's doctor said she could start trying "short rides" on her trike so now we a both "chomping at the bit" to be able to RIDE!! :) It is pretty decked out, rear rack, bell, etc. and I changed the stock 30/40/52 triple chain wheel set up to a "mountain bike"style, 22/32/44 triple chain wheel set up!

Just an update

It's February 16th. a windy chilly partly cloudy day. I've only been able to get in a couple of hour to two hour rides around Security/Widefield CO. (Southern Colorado Springs), due to nursing JoLynn back to a much better state of health. She is now doing walks and spinning for 20 minutes two times a day on our recumbent style exercise bike but after finding a medication that would let her keep food and heart meds down she is slowly recovering. Have no idea yet when she will be able to get back on her trike but it's great to see her improve enough that on Monday the 18th. she will be going back to work, "part time" to start out to see if she can handle the stress of her job as a "Accounts Receivable Clerk" for a Chevy/Honda/VW auto dealership.

LOL of course I might finally get a bit of time during the week to RIDE and it's turning VERY COLD, highs are only in the "TEENS" F for the next 3 or 4 days, RATS!! :( Hopefully we will get a warming trend after that and I can get in some miles. Due to the expenses of her medications, constant doctor visit's we've had to turn in our Dodge Caravan to be repossessed. :(  We will be very limited to where we can RIDE the trikes in the future and I'm not sure the Front Range Recumbent Trikes and Bikes Group I started will survive without ME being the main "Ride Leader". Oh well that's life and we got thrown a HUGE curveball and it will take us YEARS to get out from under the hospital bills, that are just starting at a sum of $4000 just my little panic attack visit to the ER much less JoLynn's almost $100,000 hospital stay!!!! :(  Wish us the best, right now I will be HAPPY just to get her back on her tike and RIDE! :) BJ

My wife JoLynn had a heart attack on Jan. 12th.

Sadly I have to report that my wife JoLynn had a heart attack on Jan. 12th. This attack also brought on "diabetes" so on top of trying to recover from the attack she's now a Type 2 diabetic! :( It's been rough as she is having severe nausea and a real problem keeping food and meds down. She has gotten a prescription for a drug that coats her gastric system to keep away the nausea but it's only a temp fix. It's going to be a looooong process getting her back to where she can ride her trike again but we will keep fighting and recovering awaiting that day she's cleared to RIDE again!! I am only able to take a couple of hour ride around our neighborhood here in Security, CO. IF the weather is semi-decent say 8-10 miles so I too will need to "re-train" for longer rides someday! BJ
