My Mom passed away and we had a funeral for one of my younger brothers. As things have finally slowed down a little, we did get in a ride our two! I received a "wireless microphone", from a very nice gentleman from Mississippi!! So I have been using the last couple of rides to test it out. Bummer, so far I can't get it to work with the GoPro 6, for some odd reason I can't get the AUDIO in settings to open up so I can input the type of microphone to integrate it into the camera?? The manual, shows 5 settings but the camera just shows, "N/A"?? I've even tried a Factory reset and still, Audio shows only N/A.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So here is a couple of video's and photos of the "Mic Test Rides" for your enjoyment! One is a ride up the Pikes Peak Greenway, Vincent Frontage Road, Nevada Ave. Pathway. The second, is a ride to Manitou Springs, via the Midland and Creek Walk Trail.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-S0r9UKXIrc" width="320" youtube-src-id="-S0r9UKXIrc"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf1OTkgA8B5iw50v6T7LFFHGaq7lFL6un5b-bIdnUG20UWdYQuTozRN_14XXjpv7nKrlLeJu60G5u9Wj3H8GVu5CYvUWSJ0LxJu1Zl_b0TZ6wcTSAakH_UX00T8OKGaujzDaXR6cK8o63jlvWIcsBfeEwcEWVOF_wXJDHvx0DgkL25jzTZ7yx8tRKiZ_Bg/s3000/2024-2-8-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="3000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf1OTkgA8B5iw50v6T7LFFHGaq7lFL6un5b-bIdnUG20UWdYQuTozRN_14XXjpv7nKrlLeJu60G5u9Wj3H8GVu5CYvUWSJ0LxJu1Zl_b0TZ6wcTSAakH_UX00T8OKGaujzDaXR6cK8o63jlvWIcsBfeEwcEWVOF_wXJDHvx0DgkL25jzTZ7yx8tRKiZ_Bg/w640-h480/2024-2-8-1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiF9Bv5Ns3quv0dj12ANfcU1h0ZhS6rx83T0NAxiAvQaX6SGRtDI2f8k6oum0prmLzpsNHGNIa0xA-JitDEjRoL_bLAQMgqP7tYVopLp31ykU266jVyycJ3mrY4bE89ulMJDdrN-Fb61JSOYAJOaaS1eHh33F_2TBESZq1C2kwyquwf24CqGe3ocxJeuU_/s3000/2024-2-8-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="3000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiF9Bv5Ns3quv0dj12ANfcU1h0ZhS6rx83T0NAxiAvQaX6SGRtDI2f8k6oum0prmLzpsNHGNIa0xA-JitDEjRoL_bLAQMgqP7tYVopLp31ykU266jVyycJ3mrY4bE89ulMJDdrN-Fb61JSOYAJOaaS1eHh33F_2TBESZq1C2kwyquwf24CqGe3ocxJeuU_/w640-h480/2024-2-8-2.JPG" title="Scheyver Park in Manitou Springs, CO." width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eNCS1xQCKzA" width="320" youtube-src-id="eNCS1xQCKzA"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><span style="font-size: medium;">Sadly as of Feb. 10, today, it's snowing outside with a good chance of 3-6 inches by early Sunday morning, RATS! I'd say we might get out by Wed. or Thurs. but it's going to be a slow melt as the upcoming week high temps will only be in the low 40 F range at best! This El Nina weather pattern has been a ROUGH one for us, as we don't own a car!! Cold, snow, wind, etc. but we just have to "wait" for the best day to load up the trikes and cargo trailer to get Food and Supplies!! Hope GoPro Customer Service can help me with the microphone, will just have to wait and see! On a tip from the <b><u>"Grizzly Granny" here on YouTube</u></b> we decided to try these really inexpensive Walkie-Talkies as we can't afford the cool Senca Helmets with Bluetooth communication set up inside them. We've used them several times on the last two rides are impressed with the clarity and distance these units have. </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">We bought these on AMAZON, here is a link to the information: <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Arcshell-Rechargeable-Earpiece-400-470Mhz-Included/dp/B071WBN7TT/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1XR67FMT4U3YY&keywords=arcshell+ar-5+long+range+two-way+radios&qid=1706302165&sprefix=Arcshell%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Arcshell AR-5 Walkie-Talkies</a> The units come with an earpiece speaker and holder, but we decided to get the "optional" handheld microphones. Glad we did, the earpiece holder/speaker is a kinda cheap and flimsy, it kept falling off my ear, Grizzly Granny had the same problem. We got 2 walkie-talkies and handheld microphones for around $40.00 and shipping was free! This is a great and inexpensive way to get voice communication for a spouse or friend!! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">We mounted ours in our "Sidebag Net pockets", with the clips on back it worked well. One of the problems is with the really COLD night temps, it takes a bit of time to just get "kinda warmish" in the mornings! That makes the day shorter to begin with!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Here's a couple of decent rides we got in, January 23, I needed a new black ink cartridge for my printer. Usually we would head up the Sinton Trail to the Staples at Centennial and Garden of the Gods Road. Well Sinton is closed at Elstin St. due to bridge work on I-25 which goes over the street and the trail. We decided to us the new Bike Lane up the new Centennial blvd. south extension. Headed from the storage unit to the Pikes Peak Greenway, over the west side of the Greenway to Fontaero St. where the bike lane starts. It's a long constant uphill grade up to Fillmore St., then a very fast downhill grade to Garden of the Gods Rd. and Staples.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Rat's, didn't have the right cartridge so I gota order it, we shot a video of the ride, it shows we do get out in traffic at times to get to a destination but we'd rather use the trail!!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3BL7j0u6ch0" width="320" youtube-src-id="3BL7j0u6ch0"></iframe></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /> </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> We headed back, then picked up the Mesa Springs Greenway over to Monument Valley Park. Headed out on the Templeton or T-Gap trail heading east, rode to the current end of the north trail at Ranch Rd. Heading back we turned and took the Flintridge Dr. bike lane up to Academy Blvd. heading to Starbucks for a HOT unsweet green TEA and eat our brown bag lunch. The cold front dropped the temps of the way home, we headed south then west to get on the Rock Island Trail. Man it was really getting cold as we got back to the storage unit, put the trikes away and headed out on our 1.2 mile walk back to the apartment! Overnight Thursday into Friday morning, woke up to 3 inches of fresh, WET snow so NO rides for a few days, RATS!! :( Get out and RIDE when you can! </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bqk_vpnnzGI" width="320" youtube-src-id="bqk_vpnnzGI"></iframe></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-JkRcAdwu7SYs946-iiPj4tm6bosAvvHmrgxhfoLrz93dLHZyA-vtuIfiYdZGL2jCO0gw2a5D6eT5E-uS5ou8dzJ8AgJme74dMSzKzBeqgewsw1ZWhgpgVhxwa9r72wLmBd6xRkihTGDWDb2IOB9rDTsJB3ETqdWVnsbAoMiv2EzBruUy2SuyPcI2B7g/s2624/2024-1-24-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1968" data-original-width="2624" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-JkRcAdwu7SYs946-iiPj4tm6bosAvvHmrgxhfoLrz93dLHZyA-vtuIfiYdZGL2jCO0gw2a5D6eT5E-uS5ou8dzJ8AgJme74dMSzKzBeqgewsw1ZWhgpgVhxwa9r72wLmBd6xRkihTGDWDb2IOB9rDTsJB3ETqdWVnsbAoMiv2EzBruUy2SuyPcI2B7g/w640-h480/2024-1-24-2.JPG" title="A rest stop at Portal Park, on the Templeton or T-Gap Trail" width="640" /></a></div><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-88062458025472604842024-01-15T10:39:00.000-08:002024-01-15T10:39:54.069-08:00January 15, 2024-Baby it's COLD outside!!! Polar Vortex, sub zero windchills, sadly means NO RIDES! :(<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">Well the month of January has been a complete bust as far as riding our trikes goes!! It's been Below Zero Cold fronts, Very High WINDS, etc., the only good thing is so far very little SNOW for us here in Southeastern Colorado! Yesterday, we hit the LOWEST HIGH Temp on Record (since 1972) with a -9F daily high, windchill factor -21! We have been getting in our leg work via our recumbent exercise bike, I call the "Klingon Torture Device" but it's better than nothing! </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW54HnGcvYOXGKig3MdpyS2DEhaNYrevLllie-gUp_7YcDOQTUn9VDc-s3wn-pbN-IBdOkO2jDx3F4XGBwXtPKVQiFfJ2DQDVadXE6Y0tqt1k310oKnr4CWXC1W2NuKd3-w7veIBfAyIhlEUrC-j_bbwDKpogZEbdFSvR3mt1uKCaiyNhqKUOU_4Zr4DCp/s4080/20240115_105033.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW54HnGcvYOXGKig3MdpyS2DEhaNYrevLllie-gUp_7YcDOQTUn9VDc-s3wn-pbN-IBdOkO2jDx3F4XGBwXtPKVQiFfJ2DQDVadXE6Y0tqt1k310oKnr4CWXC1W2NuKd3-w7veIBfAyIhlEUrC-j_bbwDKpogZEbdFSvR3mt1uKCaiyNhqKUOU_4Zr4DCp/w640-h480/20240115_105033.jpg" title="Klington Torture Device, awaiting its next victim!!" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The only other, at least kinda trike related event has been that we finally took the plunge and up graded from a 5x10 unit to a 10x10 unit, which now houses the trikes and the cargo trailer!! :) There is even room for us to change shoes, etc. out of the rain and weather so it's a big plus. Well not much else to say, hope your weather is better and your getting lot's of "Miles of Smiles"! For us, it's just hibernate in apt. and dream of Spring!! We stopped by our friend Tory's really cool "Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort", which is just before you leave Co. Springs into Manitou Springs! Decided to do a promo of the lodge grounds for you all, it's a great, bicycle themed lodge with cottages instead of hotel rooms! A big fireplace in the lounge, bar, all kinds of different entertainments during the week and weekends!! </span><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: large;"> </span><a href="https://www.bicycleresort.com/" rel="nofollow" style="font-size: large;" target="_blank">Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort</a><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;">If you're in </span><span style="font-size: medium;">Co. Street for HOT green tea (unsweet) and ate our Brown Bag Lunch, then headed to the Lodge and into Manitou Springs to the end of the concrete trail, turned around and headed back, picked up the Mesa Springs Greenway, Pikes Peak Greenway, then back streets to the storage unit, made it home as the sun went behind Pikes Peak! </span></div><div><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpMobs5mQX4YMbxnp9X8_g1wyCtq1Zkkm-MGvI9e76j0aLw60QlZw57vHitW3-UuOIR1Ir7lc98nd_rvctjwE1M8c8vmHws3SQgBzJg1DFK1o_GE8B377J3igIOou1WlBO4SnND50kiL4pciWRRlMf2b5rlsZoMXHkZKhfwtpTdsL_ArdMspT9TsOpByp/s2592/2023-12-30-1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpMobs5mQX4YMbxnp9X8_g1wyCtq1Zkkm-MGvI9e76j0aLw60QlZw57vHitW3-UuOIR1Ir7lc98nd_rvctjwE1M8c8vmHws3SQgBzJg1DFK1o_GE8B377J3igIOou1WlBO4SnND50kiL4pciWRRlMf2b5rlsZoMXHkZKhfwtpTdsL_ArdMspT9TsOpByp/w640-h480/2023-12-30-1.JPG" title="Saying Hi to the Peace Frog on the Midland Trail" width="640" /></a></div><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Vsf-MRuvhxQ" width="320" youtube-src-id="Vsf-MRuvhxQ"></iframe></div><br /><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">January 3, 2024,</span><span style="font-size: large;"> </span><span style="font-size: medium;">Well the cold and snow returned but a quick melt and we got in our first real ride, (we did a quick food run the day before), This was also a errand run, as we had to ride up to the Walgreens Drug Store at Centennial and Garden of the Gods Rd. to get Jo's diabetic Test Strips! The Walgreens close to us seems to "always" be out of these, which makes no sense as it's where we bought her testing machine!! :( We headed up the Sinton Trail via the T-Gap and PP Greenway, then turned around and rode back down to the PP Greenway, headed north up to the Panera Bread at the University Village Colorado Center. After a HOT tea and our Brown Bag Lunch, we headed up the Detour trail to Criterium Bike Shop, then decided to head up to do the Vincent Frontage Rd./Nevada Ave Trail Loop back to the center and then the PP Greenway and T-Gap trails back to the storage unit. The temps dropped 10 degrees, while we put away the trikes, it was a CHILLY walk home!! Sadly, winter has returned! So, we have been doing quick walks or riding the exercise bike at home, bummer, oh well it is January! Hope you have had a great New Year so far!! We've had a pattern off snow, 2 days to melt, a couple of days that are sloppy but rideable and then more SNOW! We've been taking a lot more WALKS this month and even then have gotten caught in the snow more times this year than we can ever remember. Our rides have been short, errand rides, getting food on the best of the days but that takes a lot of time, packing up, shopping, unloading and with the daylight not lasting long, not much time left for a real RIDE! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">LOL, infact today is SLOOPY on the roads and trails and since we live in a apartment, we don't have a area to wash the crud off the trikes, Sunday, one of the warmer days this week, of course we have to go get FOOD so again not any real rides. Oh well, that's life when you can't afford a condo in FL. for the winter months! ;) So for now, we wish you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a awesome New Years!! All the best in 2024! BJ and Jo</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrbxL_8HJQ7G-CH50fCeAWhOvyNiUzBqB3N_pkhLYjAD8Z288XkJ2GfX5LFZX0hCtx8KcDOWuobqilqy6T1G2ijG860os8-sV0YDSe5qb9DTvdo05HEAaYE-9YkGUQCy8XVgx8mQAUNKfuWz2pZ7_Jy9jqpDx3wmhUCqaqw3xQDXkhMZxPVEySvGuOzTwi/s720/Santa%20on%20a%20trike.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="295" data-original-width="720" height="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrbxL_8HJQ7G-CH50fCeAWhOvyNiUzBqB3N_pkhLYjAD8Z288XkJ2GfX5LFZX0hCtx8KcDOWuobqilqy6T1G2ijG860os8-sV0YDSe5qb9DTvdo05HEAaYE-9YkGUQCy8XVgx8mQAUNKfuWz2pZ7_Jy9jqpDx3wmhUCqaqw3xQDXkhMZxPVEySvGuOzTwi/w640-h262/Santa%20on%20a%20trike.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-87261097525527547892023-11-30T07:04:00.000-08:002023-11-30T07:04:43.274-08:00The last few rides of November!<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Well November has come to an end, all in all, it's been a good month to ride in 2023! So, let's wrap this month up. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">11-22 Headed towards downtown to pick up the Midland Trail over to 31st Street, had our brown bag lunch and iced tea. Decided to head up the 31st Street bike lane over to the Foothills Trail. on the way, Jo got a shot of me creeping up the hills, LOL! Warm, sunny a very enjoyable ride!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDQfFia-1vdfymyZT2NcMSfQubPfLsQTOEykDrDuMVyp38oTWFAPMjFD5ithxk_AW9IvB39NUhXUxxUDosLYfL2p1kAVxATWIZcMyD27ZgoiLzT3HGa4gtSXGHd4K0bflCiVdJo32FELR1GEuj5rMQSI8Gpb0iqiKdBj43fiYpzj8chNUCIpQDHrICLzQD/s2592/2023-11-22-4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDQfFia-1vdfymyZT2NcMSfQubPfLsQTOEykDrDuMVyp38oTWFAPMjFD5ithxk_AW9IvB39NUhXUxxUDosLYfL2p1kAVxATWIZcMyD27ZgoiLzT3HGa4gtSXGHd4K0bflCiVdJo32FELR1GEuj5rMQSI8Gpb0iqiKdBj43fiYpzj8chNUCIpQDHrICLzQD/w640-h480/2023-11-22-4.JPG" title="BJ slowly riding up the inclines of the Foothills Trail" width="640" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /> Then the COLD and snowy weather hit so for a few days, we had to use the indoor recumbent exercise bike, bummer! </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">11-28</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Had a few things going on so we stayed a bit closer to home, we rode what we call the Vincent Frontage Road Loop. It was a breezy and chilly day but sunny and still very rideable. After we stopped at Panera Bread for our brown bag lunch and iced tea, Jo wanted to get a photo of a local rock formation in Ute Valley Park so we headed up the back way using the detour trail over to the Nevada Ave Bike Lane, then the Vincent Frontage Road Trail over to the Cottonwood Creek Trail to get to the Pikes Peak Greenway. </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5XgZX8L_uuEyJWFrFtkncH7K1bT6M5h41TPNzrmNknX6qWXTIC2ri9Wk8_MIdO6-ZFDa4BZNtPdWBXC4I092T0LQ_-OGxtdoNSWPpUChxYijjzUioPEL9GiCdDXLKr1b8qU4kyapULD8ONoH1UlGLfr6fP_qW9JufKh1myWKLgGa7AY65KGwPNKMl7Sg7/s2592/2023-11-28-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5XgZX8L_uuEyJWFrFtkncH7K1bT6M5h41TPNzrmNknX6qWXTIC2ri9Wk8_MIdO6-ZFDa4BZNtPdWBXC4I092T0LQ_-OGxtdoNSWPpUChxYijjzUioPEL9GiCdDXLKr1b8qU4kyapULD8ONoH1UlGLfr6fP_qW9JufKh1myWKLgGa7AY65KGwPNKMl7Sg7/w640-h480/2023-11-28-1.JPG" title="Rock Formation in Ute Valley Park" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">11-29</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3LZ0A4LC6RBw0MiQFZGd7zlawMd_Z5DL1alLQeMgtZw_G1wJmP7e9jrLkoqn_JG2rlJ1Dth2cowkRxflFY91tO6L3Fb_Js0n4GF9WLQ91PuAyo9IssVnPlchQSpF9W0hC7g_61821RY8Ln9jO8LDsHWDlvrFRS7LC8hsgGGQoOtLjRQvMp-IZaKFJSuZN/s2592/2023-11-29-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3LZ0A4LC6RBw0MiQFZGd7zlawMd_Z5DL1alLQeMgtZw_G1wJmP7e9jrLkoqn_JG2rlJ1Dth2cowkRxflFY91tO6L3Fb_Js0n4GF9WLQ91PuAyo9IssVnPlchQSpF9W0hC7g_61821RY8Ln9jO8LDsHWDlvrFRS7LC8hsgGGQoOtLjRQvMp-IZaKFJSuZN/w640-h480/2023-11-29-1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Since we'd been north and east a lot so we headed South on the Weber St. bike lane over to America the Beautiful Park to pick up the Midland Trail into Manitou Springs. Another sunny but slightly chilly day for the last ride in November! We jumped off at 31st. St. to go to Starbuck's for our brown bag lunch and iced tea. Then back on the Midland/Creekwalk trail to Schyvier Park in Manitou. Headed back down the trail heading east, picked up the Mesa Springs Greenway, over to Monument Valley Park. Stopped at the Pickel Ball Court Bleachers, ate our afternoon snack, then headed up the BIG HILL to pick up the Cascade St. bike lane back to the storage unit. Tucked away the trikes and walked the 1.2 miles home as the sun was setting!</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP9lysG13e7px6tPXHlipMxu7UyG5ja_JXHm0hfpjFWL6O-QidMVa-IgoIEuS4P1VB1AztAXAzKxMYedo1Cq49WJWlWKaogqttMyQDIiZfCj2QXd4zBjzk75jBGAMq9M7c9_uA0HErIIkl_l1AF2k0hNMN6vBKt3rgaOMVdq4b-YygjMdKKANC8YPyGj2o/s2592/2023-11-29-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP9lysG13e7px6tPXHlipMxu7UyG5ja_JXHm0hfpjFWL6O-QidMVa-IgoIEuS4P1VB1AztAXAzKxMYedo1Cq49WJWlWKaogqttMyQDIiZfCj2QXd4zBjzk75jBGAMq9M7c9_uA0HErIIkl_l1AF2k0hNMN6vBKt3rgaOMVdq4b-YygjMdKKANC8YPyGj2o/w640-h480/2023-11-29-2.JPG" title="Fountain Creek in Manitou Springs with a bit of ice" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkH158HHoPuH7ST1s-Z69x5FI01TP30BTPi2t_PygHxcfi6uxrIBj3V2K1fpG-o-6qKtiEDCVdcQMpb8f8aGhVHfPWHuBPevXeFlcbzsCNMRIEhgyl0dMF8XRG7qUZcVik_mS5Vzc2N_iopudvJIrzQ7atuGVYyB-UiYXEvm8glPaxCPweAFLlIhXOlbWb/s2592/2023-11-29-3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkH158HHoPuH7ST1s-Z69x5FI01TP30BTPi2t_PygHxcfi6uxrIBj3V2K1fpG-o-6qKtiEDCVdcQMpb8f8aGhVHfPWHuBPevXeFlcbzsCNMRIEhgyl0dMF8XRG7qUZcVik_mS5Vzc2N_iopudvJIrzQ7atuGVYyB-UiYXEvm8glPaxCPweAFLlIhXOlbWb/w640-h480/2023-11-29-3.JPG" title="The little bridge over to the duck pond, some ducks underneath" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-77666670790220442352023-11-20T06:57:00.000-08:002023-11-30T06:25:10.820-08:00November, 2023 continued<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">It's been a crazy last few weeks as first my younger brother Chuck passed away, he was a medically retired Army Vet and served in the OIF military campaigns. Cascade St. bike lane, Templeton Gap trail west, PP Greenway over to the Cottonwood Creek Trail junction. Over the bridge and through the short tunnel, over lot's more little bridges. Cooler day with some clouds but still partly sunny, the ride is all uphill grade heading northeast to the park. LOL, besides the ride, we wanted to check out what the CITY calls restroom improvement. The park used to have a old full restroom, they tore it down and put in a 4 porta-potty stall with cover set up. The city said the old one was too expensive to upkeep, I say BS, but it's still a place to GO when needed and unlike a lot of our parks it at least has a restroom facility! </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">As the cloud cover was getting thicker, we decided not to do the upper portion of the trail and headed back. Again stopped at Panera Bread for the brown bag lunch and iced tea but we decided it was chilly enough to share a bowl of their excellent Tomato Bisque soup, YUM! From there, back down the PP Greenway over to Shooks Run Trail. On Shooks, heading north, we rode to check out if the concrete finally re-connection the Shooks Run and Rock Island Trails had been completed. YEA, it was so we rode the up the Rock Island Trail for a bit to the Templeton Gap Road bike lane. Headed back west on back streets over to Cascade St. bike lane and back to the storage unit to tuck away the trikes.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">We've got a really mean looking COLD front coming and they are talking snow, YUCK, a bit warmer days on Tue. and Wed. so we hope to get in a FOOD run on Tue. and a ride on Wed. then the weather turns bad for several days so we will be riding the exercise bike, BUMMER! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-66179564724557536922023-11-07T19:00:00.000-08:002023-11-07T19:00:08.579-08:00November 2023 1-7- Misc. rides<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">It's that time of the year, the days and the rides both in numbers and mileage are less! Hopefully get in a short ride on Thursday as Friday, Saturday and Sunday the temps drop down to the 40F's with lots of WIND so it will be "Ride the indoor exercise bike time", RATS! Out of the blue she called us and we found out she was in Boulder, CO. getting in some rides in that area and wanted to go on a RIDE with us!!!! So of course we gave her a tour of the "Garden of the Gods" and then Foothills Trail, over to Angletech we she got to visit with Kelvin and the Staff. From there we rode the Sinton Trail over to the Pikes Peak Greenway. Picked up the Cascade St. bike lane over to have lunch at Panino's Restaurant downtown Co. Springs. Via more bike lane over to the "Sky Bridge" at the US Olympic/Paralympic Museum for a grand view of Colorado Springs and America the Beautiful Park. Headed back to here campground in Manitou Springs via the Midland and Creek Walk Trails. We said our "so longs" and then headed to the storage unit, 40 mile day of pure FUN with Sylvia, she's a bright, bubbly in real life as on YouTube, it was just "awesome" to get to meet and RIDE with her and Myrtle the Turtle. She's heading south for the Winter Months in her Truck and Trailer touring set up!</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyo9McHVFI-r6kVZzibA9rItjLwhs-K4oRoWTF0yUrlVfauAWK6Kq2WcKH72SqxMJTSkOkM4lyL2Ou65fOA7b_k9hhscnSTwHz2AXuXzn7a6DSWjckPZjelsZXjetRTKsVXLwkpRiyB1HydLBRMj1rhrCISSCcNmGzMeSRUjpGiPAV_4YO1VUy0PJoRg7R/s2592/2023-10-17-5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyo9McHVFI-r6kVZzibA9rItjLwhs-K4oRoWTF0yUrlVfauAWK6Kq2WcKH72SqxMJTSkOkM4lyL2Ou65fOA7b_k9hhscnSTwHz2AXuXzn7a6DSWjckPZjelsZXjetRTKsVXLwkpRiyB1HydLBRMj1rhrCISSCcNmGzMeSRUjpGiPAV_4YO1VUy0PJoRg7R/w640-h480/2023-10-17-5.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy0ogjT6T52A48RIdIjPdJho6GFldmE6WDMxMYM1pemzMKOSk9H9xpvO9HdqDhu9CgNEbg1tVq3WYK7ByYtGANMpl1HOklCSZC2hXV_6amKIZFHivvq1LTgER2mveJpW8QupHuT_mQ7qCJht0zasHkb-k7mWuinHzARcYHVYnrTz-25A-PRLMMRjg_pEKU/s960/2023-10-17-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Photo's by Slyvia Helpern" border="0" data-original-height="634" data-original-width="960" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy0ogjT6T52A48RIdIjPdJho6GFldmE6WDMxMYM1pemzMKOSk9H9xpvO9HdqDhu9CgNEbg1tVq3WYK7ByYtGANMpl1HOklCSZC2hXV_6amKIZFHivvq1LTgER2mveJpW8QupHuT_mQ7qCJht0zasHkb-k7mWuinHzARcYHVYnrTz-25A-PRLMMRjg_pEKU/w640-h422/2023-10-17-6.jpg" title="A selfie in the Garden area of the Garden of the Gods" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq-UcOKHlDQquhaKF_5DmWdCPfDA_kV18DvM7yO8i4il4NZqItT8TBAolNLrn47Rs6Ik8J3ceYPHrnjHhIQWzYmwwVx1w4-LiLI876ejNJF57wgtF1btYE8qFbp2a_fhE7eTj7kSfFq8ZRguIrhtJTdsywfTvvurmTGoxyixMAvMmeQotAMLJK6kweewBR/s960/2023-10-17-7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq-UcOKHlDQquhaKF_5DmWdCPfDA_kV18DvM7yO8i4il4NZqItT8TBAolNLrn47Rs6Ik8J3ceYPHrnjHhIQWzYmwwVx1w4-LiLI876ejNJF57wgtF1btYE8qFbp2a_fhE7eTj7kSfFq8ZRguIrhtJTdsywfTvvurmTGoxyixMAvMmeQotAMLJK6kweewBR/w640-h480/2023-10-17-7.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK_u4hjZntxeVVWCqMjqtaNB3qyvS3dz-hs8GsUe9vyV4d1VfDgzqo9QMpJkLw8j9ObmhhN0W-PF11H28tbtX-NqVbZeE-73fWEkqhRCFeTAUyFJ28h1VKCFFEKe1Y0re9uabFiEvEJKh9nVu3NZiaumH4_Lulvd7HqibWufbbFmRXdPydWbrDh9PPqMih/s960/2023-10-17-8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Photos by Slyvia Halpern" border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK_u4hjZntxeVVWCqMjqtaNB3qyvS3dz-hs8GsUe9vyV4d1VfDgzqo9QMpJkLw8j9ObmhhN0W-PF11H28tbtX-NqVbZeE-73fWEkqhRCFeTAUyFJ28h1VKCFFEKe1Y0re9uabFiEvEJKh9nVu3NZiaumH4_Lulvd7HqibWufbbFmRXdPydWbrDh9PPqMih/w640-h480/2023-10-17-8.jpg" title="Jo up front and BJ in the mirror on the Foothills Trail" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AV2iJbqL6ew" width="320" youtube-src-id="AV2iJbqL6ew"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-85170088010150949692023-10-06T07:22:00.001-07:002023-10-06T07:22:17.554-07:00October 5, 2023-Finally got my riding buddy back!!!<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">The weather called for a nice day, 66 degrees, sunny with light wind! Jo is finally feeling good enough to want to ride after 14 days of fighting off minor Covid 19!!! It's great to have her back out on the trails with me!! :) The ride was nothing special, one of our most used loop rides. We did however do the start a bit different. We headed north on the Cascade St. Bike Lane and picked up the Templeton Gap trail over to the Pikes Peak Greenway. Rode up to Criterium Bike shop, had our morning snack. Then over to Cottonwood Creek Trail to the Vincent St. bridge, turned south on to the Vincent Frontage Road/Dublin Blvd/Nevada Ave Trail and Bike Lane over to the "Cracked Trail" (old asphalt walkway) over to the University Village Colorado Center and lunch stop of iced tea at Panera Bread. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">From there south down the PP Greenway over to the Mesa Springs Greenway heading north to it's ending point at American Furniture Warehouse. Turned around back down the MS Greenway back to the PP Greenway. Stopped to try to help a fellow trike rider with a VERY jammed chain but couldn't get the chain out of the back of the cassette. Lucky a lady with a truck gave him a ride back to his house! Got a feeling they will have to remove the cassette to get that chain unstuck!! Becon St. to Wood Ave. to Fillmore St. west over to Kathy Ln. and into the storage unit. 18 miles in the Autum sun, welcome back JO!! :)</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJeOjTEo32TgI_COXCS_73e-vJtfjyxqHOLtoMHjME51PTZe-OTVl5cunTUtCr9QoLdV-MPrz1UcF2dKvWtXjVjnQ063kdDTEXpZmKGuAhoiHtJCH6WqU7tPZa7cI5GrQDYZW4ftsegWdC4ox497Mqy07cNp8ka4rZqioE01m9ULTRTpgiewpvWr2nKwku/s4128/2023-10-5-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3096" data-original-width="4128" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJeOjTEo32TgI_COXCS_73e-vJtfjyxqHOLtoMHjME51PTZe-OTVl5cunTUtCr9QoLdV-MPrz1UcF2dKvWtXjVjnQ063kdDTEXpZmKGuAhoiHtJCH6WqU7tPZa7cI5GrQDYZW4ftsegWdC4ox497Mqy07cNp8ka4rZqioE01m9ULTRTpgiewpvWr2nKwku/w640-h480/2023-10-5-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglIHGzUZtlNymw0Fk_Q-FOgoJwbaGAUyb6By1d9KVDrM7CKJ5fPcKDagOuh5WLwF502IeA6CcK7oVogwMQVEYToOGVuziBlxRlDPNSdxDla2d613Vm7vWTlYHgKgxliZGVfBB6klcSHYavWeD5OYbklXIDlw6P_R1Hfm8ECoX54N0WJ9cCxE_3VDbLuVBS/s4080/2023-10-5-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglIHGzUZtlNymw0Fk_Q-FOgoJwbaGAUyb6By1d9KVDrM7CKJ5fPcKDagOuh5WLwF502IeA6CcK7oVogwMQVEYToOGVuziBlxRlDPNSdxDla2d613Vm7vWTlYHgKgxliZGVfBB6klcSHYavWeD5OYbklXIDlw6P_R1Hfm8ECoX54N0WJ9cCxE_3VDbLuVBS/w640-h480/2023-10-5-2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-12686632947355753222023-10-01T07:35:00.008-07:002023-10-01T07:42:02.817-07:00The rest of September 2023<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> LOL, well as usual, I'm having to catch up here on the Blog!! Took a ride on the 24th. and rode the upper section of the Cottonwood Creek Trail, it's a section I only ride in the cooler months as it has NO shade!! It was a mellow temp day, 70 F and sunny and the ride was enjoyable. Sadly, Jo is still suffering a bit from minor Covid-19 so again I was riding solo, here's a video of the ride, Enjoy!</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9G5Al28S9JI" width="320" youtube-src-id="9G5Al28S9JI"></iframe></div><p><br /></p><span style="font-size: large;">Sept. 26, I was told they had finished "Phase 3" on the Creek Walk Trail in Manitou Springs so I headed that way to check it out! Bummer, all they did was finish a bit of spur concrete to hook to a bridge over to the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce building! :( They didn't even finish the concrete up to the paved road?? Oh well I guess we have to wait till Stage 4 before it get's over to Soda Springs Park/Manitou Springs Visitor Center closer into downtown Manitou Springs! :( It was a nice day and I do like riding the Midland & Creek Walk Trail combo from Co. Springs to Manitou Springs! </span><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Jwk71Fh5Rps" width="320" youtube-src-id="Jwk71Fh5Rps"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><br /><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;">Sept. 30, Well this ride turned out to be a double bummer!! Angletech was hosting a ride for a group from St. Louis, MO. called the Bright Spot for MS ride. Every Sept. for several years, Angletech let's this MS group use it's "DEMO trike/bike fleet" to spend 4 day's riding around Colorado Springs, CO. Sept 30. was day 4 and Angletech's customers were "invited" to ride with the MS group from the dealership up to the Red Leg Brewery for a social recumbent ride. </span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI0HlN90icnPE_NLaYUHDzTRb__xF6l_6JuY7DkSt2R3ickBudEX5m18mV8eZbz9c17DHYlIBmJyanN4RinxI5PgeYkHcWNTdcLnoBiVG-WNmxkDADxBt9LPZCDLQVwBdKzYLahBsFvL-3CY1_ndS_pUonQcJoR5nVHTCV2kEK-iAv526UoSEM34sJs2it/s600/Recumbent-TrikeLogo-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="509" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI0HlN90icnPE_NLaYUHDzTRb__xF6l_6JuY7DkSt2R3ickBudEX5m18mV8eZbz9c17DHYlIBmJyanN4RinxI5PgeYkHcWNTdcLnoBiVG-WNmxkDADxBt9LPZCDLQVwBdKzYLahBsFvL-3CY1_ndS_pUonQcJoR5nVHTCV2kEK-iAv526UoSEM34sJs2it/s320/Recumbent-TrikeLogo-2.jpg" width="271" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-size: medium;">I showed up just before 2 PM. but their planed ride was changed due to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail being used by the runners of the Pikes Peak Marathon!! It made them late for their catered lunch at the dealership so the ride up to Red Leg was behind time. Well it seemed I was the ONLY customer to show up and I just didn't feel right messing up the groups VIBE so I decided to bail the event ride. 2nd. bummer, I did shot a video but for some strange reason, it came out all FOGGY looking?? I guess heat or somehow moisture got into the case and didn't clear out so the video was ruined!!!! ARRUGH! As it was late afternoon I headed back to the storage unit and then home! LOL, sometimes the plan just doesn't work out!! ;) The weather is turning quickly, it's going to be quite chilly come next week, time to break out the "tights" and long sleeve shirts, summer has past! Ride LOW, Ride SLOW, Ride Recumbent!! </span></div>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-58431061191582931362023-09-23T07:13:00.004-07:002023-09-23T07:13:37.033-07:00September 2023-Summer trying to hang on but Fall is in the air<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">Well lot's going on thru the rest of September, Our high school 50th. year reunion, my uncle Merlyn Plumlee's induction to the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum "Hall of Fame", etc. Summer has done it's best to "hang in there", even though you can feel and tell that sadly, Fall is in the air. Major bummer is that Jo has got what the doctors are calling a mild case of Covid 19 so for the last week I have been riding alone! :( I got Jo the meds she needs and since there's "nothing" I can do to help her get over this damned virus, she told me to go ride and enjoy the warm temps while they last!! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Monday, Sept. 18, I just rode around the trails and then decided to head to Monument Valley Park and see if the City, got started in repairing the "Duck Ponds". The normal Monument Creek Trail is closed off as they are removing some telephone poles that are currently in the middle of the trail! I took Recreation Way over to Glenn Ave., which we renamed as "Gernaded Ave." due to the huge amount of potholes you have to avoid!! Sadly the Duck Ponds are still just a bit of brown mud water and no work has started on their rebuild.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NX6UVb0Edlg" width="320" youtube-src-id="NX6UVb0Edlg"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thursday, Sept. 21, I decided to do a "different views" ride, here is the video and a photo where I stopped at our neighborhood entry sign on a multi-trail ride around the city of Colorado Springs:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5Lfs3RENVwWgfWLypFWkAzD7uCmKAf-2aclSOVTcfZ_fFaoRehfUrGx6HvVFeVvqjdU50pKMzqTQowj13XjFiDvACJJ80eWyqi6vIqvx1MlzH-Z4SwlzDjazkShm-j_hIJKIwYzqp2MWaBMk87PAqDpCZ6IpTmWa_3ocEAnpmncSvLC4V-MyHtD4gmuq/s4080/2023-9-21-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5Lfs3RENVwWgfWLypFWkAzD7uCmKAf-2aclSOVTcfZ_fFaoRehfUrGx6HvVFeVvqjdU50pKMzqTQowj13XjFiDvACJJ80eWyqi6vIqvx1MlzH-Z4SwlzDjazkShm-j_hIJKIwYzqp2MWaBMk87PAqDpCZ6IpTmWa_3ocEAnpmncSvLC4V-MyHtD4gmuq/w640-h480/2023-9-21-1.jpg" title="Sign for the "Historic Old Northend"" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LnP6GqMHkEg" width="320" youtube-src-id="LnP6GqMHkEg"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">Friday, Sept. 22nd. was mainly a "errand ride" to find some lances for Jo's diabetic meter as our local Walgreens has been out for a while and she was down to zero!!! Then we headed back down the trail, across the bridge to the Flintridge Bike Lane, heading east up to Academy Blvd. and a Starbuck's for unsweetened iced tea and our brown bag lunch. Back down Flintridge to the T Gap, then south to the tunnel under Union Blvd and east on the T-Gap to Portal Park for break and afternoon snack. Back to the storage unit and tucked away the trikes. 20 miles, HOT 90 F Sunny!</span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdJhAQL2xlPBTx0FeL4jmWSLdJiTK9q9-ccbV5v3rqafw19rnYnkUiMUIrEKJ_2OpwcytXqQxe_O1NIM8WHT9DxEanZt11f1tXKjf2CfJjpqtb2AEQUXxdnusyTVU34IwSFMeL3CiQjAEDZ7cSvhdSjwsyXQiCyqlBW2vLRy4yLGk-XQRRgntSKENuRRGQ/s3200/2023-9-6-6.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdJhAQL2xlPBTx0FeL4jmWSLdJiTK9q9-ccbV5v3rqafw19rnYnkUiMUIrEKJ_2OpwcytXqQxe_O1NIM8WHT9DxEanZt11f1tXKjf2CfJjpqtb2AEQUXxdnusyTVU34IwSFMeL3CiQjAEDZ7cSvhdSjwsyXQiCyqlBW2vLRy4yLGk-XQRRgntSKENuRRGQ/w640-h480/2023-9-6-6.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHdT0QVw1JqWpcBKAqd29059kpym2DLmQkEtsYh89h2xw45FyCV4OouinlqOqq9WM3X5984gRHhJJ-hJ2v7UIvzVMUjjqt-2J_aMSi1EB9QXhGV4-J69QJXqXZFuZRl2umGFVA5iv0yaENPWMFf0N8imfbxPXXlRJoRjbR27-sYhEbPTF-xIp0lfgbVWsm/s3200/2023-9-6-5.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHdT0QVw1JqWpcBKAqd29059kpym2DLmQkEtsYh89h2xw45FyCV4OouinlqOqq9WM3X5984gRHhJJ-hJ2v7UIvzVMUjjqt-2J_aMSi1EB9QXhGV4-J69QJXqXZFuZRl2umGFVA5iv0yaENPWMFf0N8imfbxPXXlRJoRjbR27-sYhEbPTF-xIp0lfgbVWsm/w640-h480/2023-9-6-5.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwsUeIsl4boHxUxxaSwONfvtckyo7aW0AkF1EaVJXBnQBfsej3wJoTA3LXOhjmEdA_gKA3qT8336EfJZLmoSBQ_6iaRitOITWAmWLrXUlp9100oyeVDg5F9FFSfcqfiUWbITOlorSE_-dvRlPma16TbZMvAT3z7vUaffC-9sD5Y-QAgGsbxSPlDqDPrwzX/s3200/2023-9-6-4.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwsUeIsl4boHxUxxaSwONfvtckyo7aW0AkF1EaVJXBnQBfsej3wJoTA3LXOhjmEdA_gKA3qT8336EfJZLmoSBQ_6iaRitOITWAmWLrXUlp9100oyeVDg5F9FFSfcqfiUWbITOlorSE_-dvRlPma16TbZMvAT3z7vUaffC-9sD5Y-QAgGsbxSPlDqDPrwzX/w640-h480/2023-9-6-4.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJBCdW0FSoUo8iEAN2aqAVx8mZCJrIhq5S0dpLFSPtqWK-yTddowqP4syJOJqcovw5yW3Y7kH9_laYdOVBAZzaxY1llUwO9YazLYQY3SfYvLDwI9vNam951KMJEG2qnzjjCgzkrY3QkBhQAfd1WA7Wv-zmuO-nId1Iaq_GGlL8X6yP-YXTBQKUPNoOQr7E/s3200/2023-9-6-3.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJBCdW0FSoUo8iEAN2aqAVx8mZCJrIhq5S0dpLFSPtqWK-yTddowqP4syJOJqcovw5yW3Y7kH9_laYdOVBAZzaxY1llUwO9YazLYQY3SfYvLDwI9vNam951KMJEG2qnzjjCgzkrY3QkBhQAfd1WA7Wv-zmuO-nId1Iaq_GGlL8X6yP-YXTBQKUPNoOQr7E/w640-h480/2023-9-6-3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh12n_T6p5Jro3i2KjcsqY79QfoLo78V-sgiflKZsDIpB9WlpR8YVIqGmrYdvWUJnYQLnyklUI6b3uzTatR0PONz26kChvuULCCogs1S1ObamlTN1KwKwqGbbm04MTpBvwYgJYkm7Od1dcrQloDMpW1PFnkG8vC7nNqD_7fUIzTKup6Nd8AZLDGH2R7o_l6/s3200/2023-9-6-1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh12n_T6p5Jro3i2KjcsqY79QfoLo78V-sgiflKZsDIpB9WlpR8YVIqGmrYdvWUJnYQLnyklUI6b3uzTatR0PONz26kChvuULCCogs1S1ObamlTN1KwKwqGbbm04MTpBvwYgJYkm7Od1dcrQloDMpW1PFnkG8vC7nNqD_7fUIzTKup6Nd8AZLDGH2R7o_l6/w640-h480/2023-9-6-1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">9/8/2023 Multi-Trail ride on another HOT 90 F day! So I headed out north on the PP Greenway and then the Cottonwood Creek Trail and back for lunch, as I had a $2.00 off a sandwich Panera Bread Membership I needed to use before it expired. Got a excellent Black Forest Ham and Goda Cheese Melt, YUM! Stopped to get photo of the Front Range foothills with Pikes Peak to add as a start up for my video. Had to use the backup GoPro Hero 2 as the GPH 3 didn't charge, not sure what happened? Turned off the PP Greenway and headed west up the Sinton Trail up to 31st. Street, turned around with a quick pit stop at Angletech https//:www.cycledifferent.com talked to Kirk about different tires for the front end of the trike for bit softer ride in the future! (Jo is a type 2 diabetic, she has to have a small amount of food every 2 hours to keep her blood sugar levels from crashing during exercise!!). It was again, a HOT ride 90 F so as it was 2 PM. we decided to call it a wrap and headed back to the storage unit, then the 1.2 mile walk back to the apartment. Just a ride on a nice day during Labor Day weekend! Hope your getting in lot's of miles of SMILES out on the trails and roads! :)<br /></span><p></p><p><br /></p></div>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-37138063368978573272023-08-26T06:50:00.008-07:002023-08-26T06:54:18.390-07:00The Dog Days of August and now the Monsoon Type Rains left over from Hurricane Howard, Gray Skies, Chilly Temps!<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">Well as usual, I'm falling behind on this blog, most of our rides have been the normal day to day runs of a transportation/recreational cyclist! Weds. the 23rd. we did our weekly Food Run and then a short ride up Sinton Trail to get unsweetened iced tea at Starbucks. It's been HOT here 90 F+ so the rides have been a bit shorter to "beat the heat" in the late afternoons. We've gone to a ride one day then walk the next kinda pattern due to the heat. Now sadly, the weather has turned 180 degrees on us, it's Gray, Chilly and Cloudy! We are getting left over moisture from the last gaps of Hurrican Howard, for us it's just weather feeling like early October not Late August!! On the 24th. we took a ride to do another "Camera Case Test" for wind noise. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I taped off the large side hole and the tiny microphone hole in the GoPro Clear Case to see if I could bring down the WIND noises! LOL, it worked almost too well as my voice level was muted down a lot from normal using a Camera Case with the Ghost (openings) windows taped over. Here's the video: </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rQRZHmQ8-Ks" width="320" youtube-src-id="rQRZHmQ8-Ks"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So now I either have to live with "muted sound", lot's of wind noise or go back to the Waterproof clear camera case, which means you Can Not hear me talking but will have zero wind noise in the background, the taped but muted non- waterproof clear camera case or take off the tape and we all put up with the WIND noise for my video's!!! Let me know what YOU think is the best way to go, thanks! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">We are now in day one of 4 that will be Gray, windy, chilly and at times heavy rains!! Hopefully by Tuesday the 29th. we will be back to a Normal Late Summer weather pattern. and back to riding!! :) Well that's it for now, hope your weather is much better and your getting in lot's of late summer rides, Bye for now, BJ. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-4021870557987184912023-08-20T07:48:00.002-07:002023-08-20T07:48:34.041-07:002023-8-17 & 19-Downtown Burger and Bags Charity Event & a long errand ride up north!<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">Our local recumbent network is the Pikes Peak Recumbent Network on Facebook, we are not a club or group, no formal government, we have a couple of volunteer ride leaders and we set up "Meet and Eats" at different Events or Eating establishments. Every year the Bank of Colorado, downtown Colorado Springs has a fundraiser for United Way. For 2023, it's called the "Burger and Bags Bash", for a donation, you get a In and Out burger, chips, drink. 4 of our PPRRN riders showed up to the scheduled "Meet and Eat". This year they had a huge Cornhole Tournament along with the Burger Bash. The 4 of us had a good time and then Jo and I headed out for a ride.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i_Bo73jq3ik" width="320" youtube-src-id="i_Bo73jq3ik"></iframe></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /> On the 19th. our ride was mainly a Errand Run, we just switched for T-Mobile 5G internet and phone to Xfinity Broadband and phone set up. We had to take the "Gateway modem", to a T-mobile store but found out it has to be returned to a "Coorporate Store", which is a long way from were we stopped for iced tea and our brown bag lunch!! It was a HOT day, 90 F so we decided to head to the coorporation store anyway! We used the detour path up to Vincent St. bridge and picked up Campus Dr. over Woodmen Ave., then LOL, back to Vincent St. the backway to Academy Blvd. Had no problems with the turn in of the Gateway at this store. Headed to Panera Bread for a 2nd. unsweet iced tea and ate our homemade engery bars for a very late afternoon snack. Here is a couple of photos from Vincent St. on the north side of Woodmen Ave.</span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7x8i9cbtZjwNpDuLcs9BjdXT78ZeXRrOS8EVOCJEI2EM_Yh5w9Z_fvBESYlsJmAxeoWVDs3qILNuDa0P5etrF3XkdJXYRCW4iUr0KnBi9RwdlkxTVtO6fO4aXIf8vrdzq_inkcv8AVKpIUFNL2KUyu3h9Ggi0C92Wp6pAAS_fxi7oJF3d2fcIetE4VuL-/s3200/2023-8-19-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7x8i9cbtZjwNpDuLcs9BjdXT78ZeXRrOS8EVOCJEI2EM_Yh5w9Z_fvBESYlsJmAxeoWVDs3qILNuDa0P5etrF3XkdJXYRCW4iUr0KnBi9RwdlkxTVtO6fO4aXIf8vrdzq_inkcv8AVKpIUFNL2KUyu3h9Ggi0C92Wp6pAAS_fxi7oJF3d2fcIetE4VuL-/w640-h480/2023-8-19-1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEEFZxHJ4aFnGa3vORY4gIPQAsm84GTP-UKLM12KQvbKrrPmPkqCAps3WP60AOf1wBjLdSvTJcMnINFLfM-27kJQao4rPwZ7pAGXerR18L8-MiQnvD0GT835rS9ITmVWCjR-yzyvaeSAhyEyOxILDQ2jgCdDhE_dIW0yw2ZkALrrnAZU5_YEmuF1EuQ4i8/s3200/2023-8-19-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2400" data-original-width="3200" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEEFZxHJ4aFnGa3vORY4gIPQAsm84GTP-UKLM12KQvbKrrPmPkqCAps3WP60AOf1wBjLdSvTJcMnINFLfM-27kJQao4rPwZ7pAGXerR18L8-MiQnvD0GT835rS9ITmVWCjR-yzyvaeSAhyEyOxILDQ2jgCdDhE_dIW0yw2ZkALrrnAZU5_YEmuF1EuQ4i8/w640-h480/2023-8-19-2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">I've started using the old GoPro Hero 2 as my Still Photo Camera, it was set for 11 mega pixles and WIDE lens but it had a bit of a old "Fisheye lens" bending at the ends of the photo!! I changed to 8 mega pixels and MED lens and it works much better! :) It was 5:30 pm by the time we headed from the storage unit back to the apartment. A long HOT ride but we got it done! Even with the heat is was a beautiful day and a good RIDE! 19 mile total. </span><p></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-26034115206725257972023-08-17T06:22:00.000-07:002023-08-17T06:22:27.909-07:00August 14 and 16, 2023-Unexpected detour to the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort and the Weekly Food Run and Lunch ride<p> <span style="font-size: medium;">As they say, "Life goes on"! LOL, sometimes it throws you a curveball too, we headed out to Manitou Springs on the 14th. We were heading under the Adams Crossing Bridge to the bike/ped underpass but it was full of Water and MUD!! Turned around and decided to go the back way via side streets into Schryver Park. I wanted to take a photo at the new mural painting at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort/Hotel and thought I'd do a video and a tour of the grounds but I goofed up and only took a PHOTO instead, DUH!! :( So we headed down El Paso St. into Manitou to pick up the Creekwalk Trail and finally got to the park. Took a break and then headed back the same way to pick up the Weber St. bike lane over to the Drive Inn for our afternoon snack and unsweet iced tea! </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHi0895riCPYcLlRbkgbJ8QjRu_wS0tKEVjoM6r_pQ2xRW5dgdG1-Alcj4kmV3VIBJHS_mhXxHRDvh6TDFiJN6Mag-c4z7BGynfVl4DQn30wdD6uyyA5yRUkYFaowv3AKi7DKqiTUEx94Y8uv4-KrUu7taUa_enfhBx81WQ_7LViz0zGOxXCZzBN-1sKP-/s2592/2023-8-14-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHi0895riCPYcLlRbkgbJ8QjRu_wS0tKEVjoM6r_pQ2xRW5dgdG1-Alcj4kmV3VIBJHS_mhXxHRDvh6TDFiJN6Mag-c4z7BGynfVl4DQn30wdD6uyyA5yRUkYFaowv3AKi7DKqiTUEx94Y8uv4-KrUu7taUa_enfhBx81WQ_7LViz0zGOxXCZzBN-1sKP-/w640-h480/2023-8-14-1.JPG" title="The new wall art at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort/Hotel" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwAVYI2mmlP-UUaotn1NXupRLZdhHDGbxzgwSqQScr6yk6rzAvzNN81bUbHx3_VvIYisBP821RUZpnb8B9tsIADq51xW8U4kg5GTkjqbfUzvXV2IqTxfk06tRY9tBxU4VQLqy9ztJUrsoacZXs7oRKoFyo3bVgYI9AdPElasDTn0OV_e1s2gQynUh91Aa/s3840/2023-8-14-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2880" data-original-width="3840" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwAVYI2mmlP-UUaotn1NXupRLZdhHDGbxzgwSqQScr6yk6rzAvzNN81bUbHx3_VvIYisBP821RUZpnb8B9tsIADq51xW8U4kg5GTkjqbfUzvXV2IqTxfk06tRY9tBxU4VQLqy9ztJUrsoacZXs7oRKoFyo3bVgYI9AdPElasDTn0OV_e1s2gQynUh91Aa/w640-h480/2023-8-14-2.JPG" title="Cheyenne Creek flows through the Park" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgor-24DHxVsTQnrLD6-QeE2Bbja4t-RxhVqf6f2VYVuMb-K_MFotevNDJJ2FQEHzhApz_fXfq99DgHHjtgfCFjzvtv_0Q7ksfl467HcYCNmMqgA24wabBOSvmmbJ81QUnEwRakRm9CP1bY24n0LRiVo5cwtx8OZpKx1Xv69Iv6jnp1FXL4x2MlaijZXyEj/s3840/2023-8-14-3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2880" data-original-width="3840" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgor-24DHxVsTQnrLD6-QeE2Bbja4t-RxhVqf6f2VYVuMb-K_MFotevNDJJ2FQEHzhApz_fXfq99DgHHjtgfCFjzvtv_0Q7ksfl467HcYCNmMqgA24wabBOSvmmbJ81QUnEwRakRm9CP1bY24n0LRiVo5cwtx8OZpKx1Xv69Iv6jnp1FXL4x2MlaijZXyEj/w640-h480/2023-8-14-3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilReXQxD3aMz0vvNJoKF8kHpbVdQBcOhwU-ZHkcHHXJNNLLEEvnEvphMJ8d70JvhCSnKMaRniKuLytTGGnz08WN4DDUg70H1gOyJr7amLf7C4jy8pxTxhHt4Dpg0UVwlXik3ATf38KDxC4_pGWN-EhwtYINhEJkdG2Gze2NTQLY3SV8ftup5sj14z2njFK/s3840/2023-8-14-4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2880" data-original-width="3840" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilReXQxD3aMz0vvNJoKF8kHpbVdQBcOhwU-ZHkcHHXJNNLLEEvnEvphMJ8d70JvhCSnKMaRniKuLytTGGnz08WN4DDUg70H1gOyJr7amLf7C4jy8pxTxhHt4Dpg0UVwlXik3ATf38KDxC4_pGWN-EhwtYINhEJkdG2Gze2NTQLY3SV8ftup5sj14z2njFK/w640-h480/2023-8-14-4.JPG" title="Swimming pool at Schryver Park in Manitou Springs" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEnRWGkKi4J8k73cQOuFKDHvu74lUYxwF_Okibj3xl4uVqRlxzroKbyk2bZMyTf-H_S0Upn2M9znq5UEQJGB6Me1JIosj-nhTVZA_K5DjhHT3KXgel6RKpR6vrZHtfj1sbeFMmTL4rENsKn_wVhnJnA5bZZ5BYMBWCU4eE83gPRT_cCzgrgWk4Npnatgoy/s3840/2023-8-14-5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2880" data-original-width="3840" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEnRWGkKi4J8k73cQOuFKDHvu74lUYxwF_Okibj3xl4uVqRlxzroKbyk2bZMyTf-H_S0Upn2M9znq5UEQJGB6Me1JIosj-nhTVZA_K5DjhHT3KXgel6RKpR6vrZHtfj1sbeFMmTL4rENsKn_wVhnJnA5bZZ5BYMBWCU4eE83gPRT_cCzgrgWk4Npnatgoy/w640-h480/2023-8-14-5.JPG" title="Our Ice Trikes, one of the 2 play grounds in the park in the background" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">August 16- Wed. is our normal weekly Food and Supplies shopping ride but today we spoiled ourselves getting a Italian Panion's wrap for lunch in downtown Colorado Springs, CO. Paid the bill and then headed to Panera Bread for unsweet iced tea to drink with our brown bag lunch. Picked up a new older, GoPro Hero 2 with the hard to find "deeper" waterproof clear case rear door so I can use the "rear view screen attachment. Bummer is the rear door won't quite fit in the "aftermarket case" I got for my GoPro Hero 3 White so I will be testing out the GP Hero 2 to see if the video quality is as good as the GP Hero 3, if so I will use the GPH 2 for video and the GPH3 for still photos. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Ok, rides, well since we can't afford a truck or van and rentals are insanely priced since the Covid 19 Pandemic, it's mostly just the same rides as usual but we do try to "mix and match" trails, back streets and bike lanes to make each on a little different! ;) As stated haven't taken hardly any photos so I will just add the YouTube videos since July 5th. Enjoy!</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DZ_WOq2VfhQ" width="320" youtube-src-id="DZ_WOq2VfhQ"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jEaf4MuBJw8" width="320" youtube-src-id="jEaf4MuBJw8"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OOV1diYjMzs" width="320" youtube-src-id="OOV1diYjMzs"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nqPFuZnep4U" width="320" youtube-src-id="nqPFuZnep4U"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gIQkzOlg8zU" width="320" youtube-src-id="gIQkzOlg8zU"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/htYvq-8y9NU" width="320" youtube-src-id="htYvq-8y9NU"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FyR1c-4HM3Q" width="320" youtube-src-id="FyR1c-4HM3Q"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AN3DuvGCxXM" width="320" youtube-src-id="AN3DuvGCxXM"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OEafjnr-k5g" width="320" youtube-src-id="OEafjnr-k5g"></iframe></div><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p>B.J. and JoLynn Ondohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10705559333741947530noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054700382265336816.post-26820011731032497302023-07-24T14:46:00.001-07:002023-07-24T14:46:14.240-07:00July 5-24, 2023-A bit of an update and Very HOT ride on July 24th. Even if we started very early for us!<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> Hello all, well I've been bad about keeping up with the blog, sorry! I've been doing a lot of YouTube videos as I've gotten a couple of older GoPro Camera's that I'm now using instead of my old CamPark 4K Ultra camera! The first on I bought a used GoPro 3 White version and then a friend gave me an orgianal GoPro, which I called the GoPro ZERO, LOL. The GP 3 is in very good shape and is easy to use, well except of the wi-fi remote, which I'm still figuring out how to use it!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The GP Zero, came with a "attachment", rear viewing screen and an "attachment" extra battery. Sadly, the GP ZERO, has quit working, it's stuck on photo mode and won't stop taking photo's till the battery or the 16G card is full so I'm trashing it. :( Got lucky the "attachment" rear view screen and battery pack works on the GP3!!!! :) Bad news, is that the GP 0 had a extra deep rear door on it's waterproof clear plastic case to fit both the camera and either of the attachments, it won't fit on the new GP3 waterproof clear plastic case so for now I can't use either, RATS! :( </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Our YouTube Channel is the same name as our Blog: Out and About on the Recumbents, so pls. check it out to see the rides we've done in last couple of weeks, thanks!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Now for the ride we did today, We got up a 6am and were out the apartment door by 7am, walked to the storage unit and got the trikes and headed out on the bike lane on Cascade St. by 7:35am. It was actually a bit chilly, which felt great! We've had 90 F+ temps for the last few days! We headed over to pick up the Pikes Peak Greenway off of Polk St. and then north up to the trail junction with, the Cottonwood Creek Trail. We rode the CCT to Academy Blvd. and then took the sidewalk up over to Starbuck's. Since it was to early for our usual "brown bag lunch", we just at a protein bar (homemade), and drank a very large and cold unsweet green iced tea! :) We back tracked on the CCT to the PPGreenway, heading south over to the Fontanero St. Trail Head/parking area to see if they got the detour set up for the PP Greenway on the WEST side of monument valley park yet, yep, it's blocked off. The are taking out a dozen telephone poles and digging underground utilities and then will widen the current dirt/gravel trail and we HOPE lay concrete, that will hook up to Monument Valley Park/Lake Stanley, then we hope they will lay more concrete to the bridge so the whole west side trail through Monument Valley would be concrete!!!! :) </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Here is some photos crossing several of the bridges along PP Greenway north and the Cottonwood Creek Trail: </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
