More September 2025

LOL, as usual, I am catching up on the blog entries!

September 14- Food run and Lunch Ride, hooked up the trailer and went and got food and household items and then we headed out to lunch.

September 15- A beautiful day for a RIDE! We headed out the Pikes Peak Greenway to the Cottonwood Creek Trail, heading up to Cottonwood Regional Park. As always, it's a nice ride, especially on a "weekday", much less traffic on the trail. We found out a local church has opened a Coffee and Cafe shop right on the trail just before Union Blvd! We'd already eaten lunch, so we decided to stop by and check it out on the way back!

Lots of different coffee's, teas and sandwiches and pastries too! So if your ever on the Cottonwood Creek Trail in Colorado Springs, CO. stop in and support them!

September 18- Riding the IMPROVED Cheyenne Blvd Bike Lane up to the Starsmoor Visitor & Nature Center at the foot of North Cheyenne Canyon Park- It had been a while since we headed out to ride to the Starsmoor Center. The last few rides have been in a very FADED out bike lane and lots of construction work! WOW, now the Cheyenne Blvd Bike Lane is totally repaved and repainted!! There is bike lane all the way to the center and it was made wider and easier to use. They even added a WALKER'S lane up the canyon itself, it makes riding to either the Sacred Grounds Cafe or the Starsmoor Center a LOT more safe!

We wanted to do kinda a picnic lunch and found a great picnic area just south and west of the Starsmoor Center, so we got to eat our brown bag lunch right next to the creek! After that we headed back down and picked up the Tejon St. bike lane and headed back to the apartment, a BIG THANKS to the city of Colorado Springs Streets Dept. for the excellent refurbish of the bike lane!

September 19- Rock Island and Pikes Peak Greenway Fun Ride- Another nice day for a ride so we headed out the Rock Island Trail to it's current ending point at Powers Blvd. out east of town. Headed back and picked up the Pikes Peak Greenway north to add some miles to the ride and stay away from home a bit longer! ;)

September 21- Another Ride to Manitou Springs- Time to head south and west via the "west side" of the PP Greenway through Monument Valley Park, then over the I-25 Ped/Bike Bridge to the Mesa Greenway, back street bike lanes to the Midland Trail! We stopped at the Starbucks on Co. Ave and 31st. St. for lunch and tea. Then we picked up Pikes Peak Ave headed to see if they finished the re-paving of Ridge Rd. into the Garden of the Gods but alas, it was still blocked off, so we rode the back road into Field Park and the Creekwalk Trail in Manitou Springs. We rode the trail to the current end at Mayfield Drive, turned around and headed back.

Stopped at Fields Park for a Nature Break and then continued on the Creekwalk to Midland Trail heading back into Colorado Springs.

Headed back to pick up the Mesa Greenway, over the Ped/Bike Bridge and the "westside" Pikes Peak Greenway back to the apartment, again a nice day for a ride!

September 22- Well, the weather was iffy, lots of gray, thin high clouds so we took a chance and headed up the PP Greenway to do a short loop ride. Turned on to Cottonwood Creek but only up to Academy Blvd, then turned back heading for the PP Greenway south and then east on the Templeton Gap Trail. Picked up the accessway along Union Blvd south and a back street to hook up to the Templeton Gap Road bike lane and then the Rock Island Trail heading west, Shooks Run Trail heading south and stopped at STIR'S Coffee & Cocktails for Iced Tea and snack, then back to the apartment!  The sun didn't show but the temp was mid 70 F and it never rained till several hours after we got back to the apartment!!

Ok, that's all for now folks, oh, you noticed there's no Relive or YouTube Videos, well that's my fault! I made a mistake with my new Lenovo Laptop Computer and made all the videos disappear! RATS!!! LOL, it's hell being a 70-year-old Senior in a modern computer driven world, that's why I like my TRIKE better!! Till we see you next time, "HAPPY TRAIL'S"!
