Well, between rain and windstorms and medical appointments, we have had more walks than rides lately! We headed out, using mostly bike lanes, Cascade Ave through downtown over to the Tejon St. bike lane, then finally the Cheyenne Blvd bike lane that heads to North Cheyenne City Park. Heading up to the Starsmoor Nature & Visitor Center to find a bit of shade and cooler temps as it's 90F today!
This time as we got an earlier start, we headed straight to the Starsmoor Center, dropped a small donation in the box and used the restrooms. Now heading east on Cheyenne Blvd to get to the Scared Grounds Cafe for iced tea to have with the brown bag lunch. Back on the Cheyenne Blvd bike lane past Cresta Drive and 8th Street and back on the Tejon St. bike lane. Picked up the Pikes Peak Greenway heading too America the Beautiful Park. Back on the PP Greenway heading north up to Monument Valley Park for a bench in the shade by Stanley Lake to have a Think Bar, water and shade break from the heat!
Taking the "westside" PP Greenway route up and over the Popcycle Bridge back to the apartment complex, tucked in and locked up the trikes in the space underneath the front stairs and climbing the stairs to our Air-Conditioned apartment to call it a day!
